We are searching for motivated and qualified PhD students and postdocs for fully funded positions starting immediately. The scope of potential research projects is exemplifed by, but not limited to, the topics presented on the research page.
PhD candidates should be motivated to begin acquiring the broad technical skills and knowledge required to begin research immediately. They should be communicative, flexible, and eager to learn, in possession of a strong understanding of quantum mechanics, good analytical skills, and knowledge of scientific programming. Previous research experience is encouraged and an excellent Masters degree is essential.
Postdoc applications are handled by the MPI-PKS visitors program, but interested applicants should contact me first. Applicants should have a strong background in theoretical atomic, molecular optical (AMO) or condensed matter physics, and must be interested in applying their background knowledge into new contexts or acquiring new techniques and abilities. We offer a variety of computing facilties and travel funding, along with a collaborative and competitive research atmosphere at the institute thanks to the many strong research groups and extensive workshop program.
