Fluctuations, both classical and quantum, are ubiquitous in Nature. Correlated fluctuations can give rise to forces in constrained systems such as in liquid mixtures near critical points, or Casimir-type forces derived from fluctuations of the quantum vacuum. The focus of this year's Atomic Physics workshop will survey the recent developments in fluctuation-induced phenomena, ranging from theoretical foundations to experimental verification.
The workshop will take place from Monday to Friday noon. (Arrival on Sunday afternoon is possible.)
The foucs days are Wednesday to Friday noon. Slots from Monday noon to Wednesday are devoted to presentations about topics of general interest in atomic physics.
