There are three different wireless networks available.

pks-members for employees with access to internal resources.
eduroam if you have an eduroam account at your home institution.
pks-guest with self-registrations or temporary accounts for guests.

For sharing and synchronizing documents, calendars etc. use our cloud server cloud.pks.mpg.de.

Collaboration with externals is possible; please ask the IT department.

Your account at the institute includes an email account: username@pks.mpg.de.

It is accessible via email clients or the webinterface at webmail.pks.mpg.de.

Please check your emails regularly or setup a forward.

There is a GitHub like version control system, hosted by the institute for versioning and sharing your code.

Do you need to perform more than some small calculations on your workstation? Then you can utilize our internal computing cluster running SLURM or the external computing facilites at the MPCDF in Garching.

To access internal resources from abroad, you can use the OpenVPN Server at

Should you prefer SSH, then you can connect  to one of our public login servers
newton.pks.mpg.de or vesta.pks.mpg.de
 
Journals, eBooks etc. can also be accessed via ezproxy.pks.mpg.de
