| I will present the theoretical description of the recent experimental realization of a dipolar condensate, in particular I will explain how to detect the effects of this new interaction. Then I will analyze the ground state properties and excitation of these new systems focusing the attention on the quasi-2D case where an external harmonic confinement is present in one spatial direction. |
