Promovendus
Promovendus is a new online platform, which since September 2018 all doctoral candidates of the TUD are supposed to use for managing their PhD formalities.
The access to the Promovendus platform is only possible with an account of the ZIH (Centre for Information Services and High Performance Computing) of the TUD1.
Getting access to Promovendus
1. Get a guest account for ZIH
a) With the first form you request an account.
b) With the second form your official supervisor (director/professor) at our institute confirms his/her supervision of your PhD studies.
c) Printed and signed forms have to be sent to promovendus@tu-dresden.de (scanned files) or physically via internal mail to the graduate academy of the TUD (e. g. sent by director's secretary).
In that email/letter explicitly mention an email address (e. g. your ...[at]pks.mpg.de address), on which you want to receive your ZIH-login data. You get a confirmation of the creation of your login by email typically within a week.
2. Register as a user of Promovendus
Register as a user on the homepage of Promovendus by clicking onto "register as user once".
3. Login into Promovendus
Use your ZIH-account for logging into Promovendus on its homepage under "Login".

(The links to the forms are only visible internally.)
1Members of the TUD automatically get such an account, while external associates like us, our group leaders and our directors do not. An interim solution to this conflict of prerequisites is currently active and is supposed to be replaced by something else in the near future. Until then we have to pass the guest account procedure described above to be able to use Promovendus.
