Quantum impurity models, Coulomb blockade and resistances

In this Talk, we study quantum impurity models in relation with the Coulomb blockade phenomenon and dissipation effects. First, we theoretically investigate dissipation stemming from a resistance and discuss dissipative many-body quantum phenomena, with applications in electron and photonic systems. Second, dissipation in quantum impurity models gives rise to the Korringa-Shiba relation which has important implications for mesoscopic transport, resulting in a universal charge relaxation resistance. We illustrate this concept through the quantum RC circuit.
