Spectroscopic studies of small to medium-sized HeN-molecule clusters (N is the number of helium atoms), for example, HeN-OCS, have provided detailed insight into the evolution of superfluidity at the microscopic scale. In particular, the observed (non-classical) increase of rotational constant with cluster size at relatively small N-values was interpreted to mark the onset of microscopic superfluidity. A similar approach can in principle be applied to study (para-hydrogen)N-molecule clusters with the hope to find spectroscopic indicators for the existence of superfluid hydrogen. Microwave, rotational spectra of (para-hydrogen)N-OCS, (para-hydrogen)N-N2O, and (para-hydrogen)N-CO clusters will be presented and discussed. |
