Within density functional theory, we address the structure of large 3He - 4 He drops doped with Ca atoms. We show that the Ca atom resides in a dimple located in the 3He - 4 Heinterface. We describe the evolution of the absorption spectrum of Ca as a function of the number of 3He atoms in the drop.The calculations are in semi-quantitative agreement with recent experimental results obtained for drops of similar composition. |
