| he Jaynes-Cummings Hamiltonian is an integrable model of a two-state atom coupled to a cavity electromagnetic mode. I will show how to use its integrability to study the Rabi oscillations of a photon wave packet, by deriving the matrix-valued phase space dynamics of classically smooth observables. The results reveal subtle consequences of the uncertainty principle. |
