We have synthesized the samples of Zn0.95Co0.05O nanoparticles using sol-gel method with two diffrent pH values 6 and 9.These samples are characterized with powder x-ray diffraction ,scanning electron microscopy(SEM), Ultraviolet/Visible (UV/V) spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra and fluroscence spectra. The sample are found in single phase with polycrystalline nature having wurtzite lattice structure. SEM micrographs show a spherical structure for acid-base reaction and a hexagonal structure for basic-base reaction. The UV/V spectra of the nanoparticles indicated a band gap 3.45 eV for pH 6 (acidic solution) and 3.37 eV for pH 9 (basic solution). FTIR spectra show a peak at around 469 cm-1 (for pH 6 sample) and 471 cm-1 (for pH 9 sample) attributed to the streching mode typical for ZnO. Fluroscence spectra show a visible blue emission peak at 457 cm-1 for acid-base reaction and at 465 cm-1 for basic-base reaction. |
