We discuss possible topological phases such as spin liquid and topological insulators in correlated systems with both magnetic frustration and strong-spin orbit coupling. We consider two different kinds of situations. The system may be close to a metal-insulator transition or in the strong coupling regime. We apply these ideas to pyrochlore iridates A2Ir2O7 and honeycomb lattice iridates Na2IrO3. We also introduce fractionalized topological insulators as new possible phases that may arise in systems with magnetic frustration.
