We present large-scale numerical exact diagonalization results of static and dynamical properties of the square lattice Heisenberg antiferromagnet in a uniform magnetic field. We provide strong numerical evidence for the decay of antiferromagnetic magnons in high magnetic field, in agreement with previous work based on spin-wave theory. Furthermore we report strong renormalization effects of the spin-wave dispersion in low and intermediate fields, reminiscent of similar effects in the triangular lattice antiferromagnet.
