In this talk I will first give a brief review of our theoretical studies of the (single particle) quantum dynamics in tilted periodic structures starting with Wannier-Stark resonances with applications to lifetimes of cold atoms in optical lattices or carriers in solid state superlattices as well as resonance statistics and decay dynamics in driven systems. In the second part of the talk I will address the influence of the particle interaction in Bose-Einstein condensates, mainly within the mean-field approximation. Here we find destruction and revival of Bloch oscillations and, dependent on the static field, a plethora of dynamical phenomena reaching from strongly coherent evolution to chaotic and sub-diffusive dynamics.
